More and more parents are realising the harm to the environment that simple baby care can make. Disposable nappies can take up to 500 years to decompose fully meaning that the vast majority ever produced are still in the earth! It's a frightening statistic but in the UK alone we discard 63 million disposables each week.

The alternative to disposables is cloth nappies and these cotton nappies are predominantly ethically produced from the purest materials available so they are kinder to the environment in every way.

Eco-Friendly Disposable Nappies

Although using disposable nappies is convenient there are many parents that are concerned about the use of chemicals in ordinary disposables. Ordinary disposable nappies contain granules of acrylic acid polymer salts, which turn to gel in water and are an efficient, though not eco friendly, way of increasing absorbency.

Eco-friendly nappies have no bleaching agents to pollute the environment during manufacture or decomposition, and fewer chemicals are used so harmful waste products are considerably reduced. Gel-free disposable nappies are made of a cotton blend and are perfume, dye and latex-free.

Organic & Fair Trade Clothing

Labels on cotton garments often read "100% pure cotton" but in reality, conventionally grown cotton is far from pure. Pesticides and other chemicals are used in the growing process of conventional cotton to ensure the highest yield with more chemicals, such as dyes and bleaches, added in the finishing process. In simple terms, the growth and manufacturing of conventional cotton imposes a heavy toll on the environment and the farmers themselves.

Organic cotton reduces pesticide damage to the environment and farmers, and the farmers benefit from a stable income and better health. The end result for you, me and our little ones is that we get goods free from harmful pesticide residues, which is better for everyone's health.
