Disposable nappies can take up to 500 years to decompose fully meaning that the vast majority ever produced are still in the earth! It's a frightening statistic but in the UK alone we discard 63 million disposables each week.

The alternative to disposables is cloth nappies and these cotton nappies are predominantly ethically produced from the purest materials available so they are kinder to the environment in every way.

Eco-Friendly Disposable Nappies

Although using disposable nappies is convenient there are many parents that are concerned about the use of chemicals in ordinary disposables. Ordinary disposable nappies contain granules of acrylic acid polymer salts, which turn to gel in water and are an efficient, though not eco friendly, way of increasing absorbency.

Eco-friendly nappies have no bleaching agents to pollute the environment during manufacture or decomposition, and fewer chemicals are used so harmful waste products are considerably reduced. Gel-free disposable nappies are made of a cotton blend and are perfume, dye and latex-free.
