What bedding (sheets and blankets) should be used in the hammock. What about protecting the mattress?
Your hammock comes with a fitted cotton mattress cover which is like a pillow slip for the mattress.
New to our range are top sheets made in the same cream brushed cotton. They measure 73 cm wide x 83cm long. Bassinet size sheets and blankets are also suitable. You can swaddle baby first or just tuck them ion with a top sheet and bassinet size rug. Another trick is to use cot size sheet under the mattress and wrap the baby and mattress from both sides like some maternity hospitals do for newborns (see photo of Isaac).
We are looking into producing a wool flannel for a mattress protector. I recommend you purchase a bassinet size wool mattress protector and wrap it around the futon mattress for now, then you can use it in the next bed or cot baby moves into.
Can you please tell me the the size of the mattress.
The mattress size is 86 cm x 35 cm.
Is it OK for my 2 month old to be sleeping in it all the time?
Your baby is quite safe sleeping in the hammock full time, usually a child can use the hammock until they become too wriggly or start trying to turn over or sit up. The curve is very gentle and actually ensures even weight distribution along the spine as well as protecting from “flathead”.
Have you any recommendations from sleeping for babies for long periods?
From what we know, the concerns with sleeping babies on flat beds is based on the concern over parents using car seats as sleeping places. In the hammock the baby is on such a gentle curve this is not of concern. We recommend baby gets plenty of floor time for moving about and especially tummy time.
How should I wash my hammock?
Your hammock is 100% cotton calico with stainless steel ring attached. Machine wash on a normal cycle, do not tumble dry. For best results hot iron when wet then hang to dry.
How should I wash my mattress cover?

How should I wash my mattress?
Mattresses have a 100% wool inner with either 100% cotton or 50/50 wool/viscose outer. Hand wash only, lukewarm water 20 degrees, use special wool detergent, do not wring, roll on a towel to remove excess water and hang to dry in the sun or warming cupboard. Do not tumble dry
